I was looking through Maura's website and then came across your blog, and was interested in your homelessness work. I was particularly interested in your ideas that not only had the ultimate goal to work towards ending homelessness, but the ones that seem like smaller goals (not less important) for homelessness : those involving improving quality of life in small ways such as your deck of cards.
In the interest of this topic, I saw an independant documentary on a pbs short films competition online that was pretty amazing about a Homeless Karaoke program on skid row that started to help the homeless find a positive release in their lives. It was pretty short (about 7 minutes) but very interesting about how this program started to help houseless individuals find community and those with substance abuse problems find other natural sources of comfort and entertainment to help fight their addictions.
